Kestrels claim historic victory
The Wrenford Polytechnic women's volleyball team secured a spot in the provincial semi-finals on Saturday, defeating the top-ranked opponent in a stunning upset at the Kestrel Centre.
The match, part of the provincial college athletics conference quarter-finals, saw the Kestrels overcome a challenging first set to take control in the middle frames. The team's resilience and strategic plays turned the tide, culminating in a decisive victory that sent the home crowd into a frenzy.
The win marks a significant milestone for the program, which has grown steadily since joining the conference. Reaching the semi-finals is a testament to the hard work of the student-athletes and the support of the college community.
"We knew they were a tough opponent, but we believed in our game plan and in each other," said a student on the women's volleyball team. "This is what we worked for all season. We are just getting started."
The Kestrels will face the next opponent in the semi-final round later this month. Fans are encouraged to attend and support the team as they continue their run in the provincial championship.
