Spring intramural season begins May 10
Wrenford Polytechnic is now accepting team registrations for the spring intramural season, which runs from May 10 through August 13. Students can sign up for soccer, volleyball, and badminton through the student portal.
Spring is a busy time on campus with final exams and co-op placements, but the athletics office wants to make sure everyone has a chance to stay active and connect with classmates. Intramural sports are open to all students, regardless of experience level.
The Kestrel Centre gymnasium and Kestrel Field will host the competitions. Games are scheduled in the evenings and on weekends to fit around class timetables.
How to register
- Log in to the student portal and navigate to the intramural sports section.
- Choose your sport: men's and women's soccer, co-ed volleyball, or co-ed badminton.
- Form a team of four to eight players, or join the free-agent pool if you do not have a full squad.
- Pay the $15 team entry fee by credit card or cheque made out to Wrenford Polytechnic.
Equipment is provided for all sports. Players should bring their own water bottles and wear appropriate athletic shoes. Indoor volleyball and badminton require non-marking soles.
Safety and sportsmanship
All team captains must attend a brief safety orientation before the first game. Campus Security is on site for all events, and the Health Centre is available for any injuries.
Sportsmanship is a priority. Any player ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct will be suspended for the next game.
Prizes and perks
Winning teams receive certificates and a team photo on the athletics bulletin board. Every participant receives a coupon for a free drink at the Student Union Building food hall.
