A standout graduate
Maya, Practical Nursing, received the Dean's Excellence Award during the Spring 2026 convocation ceremony held at the Kestrel Centre on June 12, 2027. The award recognises a student who has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and clinical performance throughout the two-year diploma program.
Excellence in the classroom and clinicals
Maya graduated with honours, maintaining a top-tier standing in her cohort. Her clinical placements at regional healthcare facilities were marked by consistent feedback from preceptors regarding her patient care, communication skills, and ability to work within interdisciplinary teams.
"Maya brings a rare combination of compassion and clinical precision to the bedside," said Margaret Ellison, chair of the Nursing department. "Her ability to connect with patients while maintaining strict safety protocols sets a high standard for our graduating class."
Looking ahead
Maya plans to begin her career as a registered practical nurse at a regional hospital later this summer. She joined the School of Health Sciences at Wrenford Polytechnic in September 2025.
