Business administration students launch mentorship program with local entrepreneurs

Industry partnerships

Wrenford Polytechnic's Business Administration students are bridging the gap between the classroom and the local economy through a new mentorship program launched this week. The initiative connects students with successful business owners in the City of Wrenford who provide guidance on entrepreneurship, management, and career planning.

Students enrolled in the full-time and part-time Business Administration programs (ADIP) have been paired with mentors from a variety of sectors, including retail, professional services, and local manufacturing. The program runs during the Spring/Summer 2027 term, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges under the supervision of experienced professionals.

"Having a mentor who has navigated the same challenges gives students confidence and a practical roadmap," said Bettina Kraus, Director of Co-op & Career Services. "We want our students to leave Wrenford Polytechnic not just with a diploma, but with a professional network that supports their long-term goals."

The mentorship program complements the co-op work terms already built into the Business Administration curriculum. While co-op placements provide immersive employment experiences, the mentorship component focuses on strategic career development, business ethics, and leadership skills.
