Falls Library extends weekend hours during mid-term exams

Extended hours for the October reading week

The Falls Library & Learning Commons will extend its Saturday operating hours to support students during the October reading week and mid-term exams. The change takes effect immediately for the remainder of the Fall 2026 term.

Starting Saturday, October 19, the library will open at 9:00 a.m. and remain open until 8:00 p.m. This new weekend schedule runs through the end of the reading week on Sunday, October 23. The library will return to its regular term schedule on Monday, October 24.

The extension was made to address the high demand for quiet study space during the busiest week of the term. The Learning Commons & Tutoring service will also have staff on-site during these hours to assist with research questions.

"We hear from students that the reading week is when they need the library most," said a representative from the Falls Library & Learning Commons. "We want to make sure you have a quiet, well-lit place to prepare for your mid-terms."

Students should note that the testing centre remains closed on weekends. For information on booking study rooms or using the 3D printing services, please visit the Library page.

The Falls Library & Learning Commons is located in the Falls Library & Learning Commons building on the Benchlands Campus.
