Applied mathematics for construction measurements, estimations, and material calculations.
About this course
PLMB 1550 Trade Mathematics covers the math you will use daily on construction sites. You will practice calculations for measurements, material estimates, and cost projections. The course focuses on practical problems rather than abstract theory.
You will work with fractions, decimals, percentages, and basic geometry. You will learn how to calculate areas and volumes for walls, floors, and pipes. You will also practice estimating material quantities and costs, including waste factors.
Who takes this course
This course is an elective. It is open to students in the Carpentry & Renovation Techniques program and other construction-related programs who need a refresher on trade math.
