About this course
PHAR 2470 Mobility and Transfer Safety teaches proper techniques for assisting patients with movement and transfers. You will learn how to assess a patient's mobility needs and select the right equipment to keep both you and the patient safe. The course covers body mechanics, lifting strategies, and clear communication during mobility procedures.
Practical skills make up half of your grade. You will demonstrate transfers in a lab setting, showing that you can move patients safely between beds, chairs, and wheelchairs. The written exam tests your knowledge of safety protocols and equipment use.
