Methods for monitoring, capturing, and analyzing network traffic for troubleshooting.
About this course
In NETW 2470 Network Traffic Analysis, you learn how to see inside the network. You will use industry-standard tools to capture, filter, and examine network packets. The course focuses on practical troubleshooting and security monitoring. You will work with both wired and wireless traffic to understand how data moves across modern networks.
You will explore common protocols and identify how they behave under normal and stressed conditions. The labs require you to capture real traffic, interpret the results, and write clear reports. By the end of the term, you should be able to isolate the cause of a network problem or spot suspicious activity in a stream of data.
