Program Description
Introduction to programmable logic controllers and automated industrial control systems.
About this course
MILL 2490 Industrial Automation Controls introduces the principles of programmable logic controllers and automated industrial control systems. You will learn how these devices manage machinery and production lines in modern workplaces. The course covers the transition from traditional relay-based control to software-driven automation.
You will spend time in the Tamarack Building shops programming controllers and wiring I/O modules. The focus is on practical application, so you will build and test circuits that mimic real industrial tasks. You must complete MILL 1960 Motor Control Basics before taking this course.
