Program Description
Mathematical methods and statistical applications relevant to health sciences and technology programs.
About this course
MATH 1170 Applied Mathematics for Health introduces the mathematical and statistical tools you need to succeed in health sciences and technology programs. You will explore calculus, statistics, and linear algebra as they apply to real-world health scenarios, from modelling disease spread to analysing clinical trial data.
The course is designed for students who need a strong quantitative foundation but may not have advanced pure mathematics background. You will work through case studies that reflect the kinds of data you will encounter in labs and clinical settings.
