Explores specialized applications of remote sensing technology in natural resource management, environmental monitoring, and urban planning.
Course overview
GEOM 5270 Remote Sensing Applications moves beyond the principles you learned in earlier courses and focuses on how remote sensing solves real-world problems. You will explore how sensors capture information about the Earth's surface and how that data is used in resource management, environmental monitoring, and urban planning.
The course covers a range of specialized applications, including forestry, agriculture, water resource management, and urban growth monitoring. You will work with multispectral and LiDAR data to extract meaningful information, design monitoring plans, and communicate your results to stakeholders.
