Program Description
Physics, pulse sequences, and clinical applications of magnetic resonance imaging technology.
About this course
Medical Radiation Technology students explore the physics, pulse sequences, and clinical applications of magnetic resonance imaging technology. This course builds on your knowledge of computed tomography and fluoroscopy to examine how magnetic fields and radio waves create detailed images of soft tissue.
You will study the physical principles of nuclear magnetic resonance, learn to describe common pulse sequences, and identify standard anatomical protocols. The course also covers image quality evaluation, artefact troubleshooting, and the essential safety guidelines for patients and staff working in the MRI environment.
