Advanced study of thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, and electrochemistry for technology foundation students.
About this course
General Chemistry II builds directly on the foundations laid in General Chemistry I. This course focuses on the advanced principles that govern chemical behaviour, including thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, and electrochemistry. You will explore how energy moves through chemical systems, how fast reactions occur, and how to predict the direction of chemical change.
The course is designed for students entering technology and applied engineering programs. You will develop the quantitative problem-solving skills needed to understand the chemical processes behind engineering applications. Laboratory sessions reinforce the theoretical concepts with hands-on experiments in energy changes, reaction rates, and electrochemical cells.
