Development of skills in interpreting architectural drawings and creating technical sketches for construction projects.
About this course
Construction projects rely on clear, accurate drawings. This course teaches you how to read architectural plans and turn those plans into your own technical sketches. You will learn the language of blueprints, including symbols, scales, and standard notation. You will also practice producing clear sketches that show building details and dimensions.
You work through real-world examples that match the carpentry trade. By the end of the term, you can look at a set of plans and explain what the drawings mean, or produce a sketch that a foreperson or client can understand without further explanation.
