What you will learn

You will learn how to take complex information and turn it into clear, useful documents that solve real problems. The program covers audience analysis, information architecture, and professional editing. You will practice writing user guides, policy documents, and technical reports, and you will learn how to structure content for digital platforms. Presentation skills and research methods are woven into the coursework so you can share your findings confidently. You will also study global technology trends and interprofessional collaboration, which prepares you to work in diverse teams across different sectors.

How the program runs

This program is delivered fully online, so you can study from anywhere in Ontario. The program spans two to three terms over one year, with a September start date. You will complete nine courses, including core technical communication modules and general education courses in research and professional skills. All classes and assignments are managed through the student portal, and you will receive support from instructors and peer mentors throughout the term. The online format allows you to balance your studies with work and family commitments, while still gaining hands-on experience through portfolio projects and simulated workplace scenarios.

Admission

Applicants must hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or qualify as a mature student (19 years of age or older by the start of classes). You need Grade 12 English (C or U) with a minimum grade of 60%. International applicants must provide proof of English proficiency through an accepted test. Applications are reviewed on a competitive basis, and we encourage you to submit a writing sample with your application. The equal consideration date for fall intake is March 1, 2027. If you do not meet the English requirement, you may be eligible for conditional admission or required to complete a foundation course before starting.

Tuition and fees

Tuition for the 2026–27 academic year is $4,680. Ancillary fees of $1,125 are charged separately to cover student services, technology, and campus access. Payment plans are available through Student Financial Aid. Domestic students may be eligible for Ontario student financial assistance. International students must pay tuition in full before classes begin. For a full breakdown of fees and information on scholarships, visit the Tuition & Fees page.

After you graduate

Graduates are prepared to work as technical writers, editors, content strategists, and documentation specialists across a range of industries. The program equips you with a professional portfolio that demonstrates your ability to communicate complex information clearly. Many graduates go on to roles in software development, healthcare, engineering, and government, where clear documentation is essential. You will also have the skills to continue into advanced graduate programs or specialise in a specific industry. The program's focus on digital tools and audience analysis makes you highly adaptable in a fast-changing job market.

How to apply

To apply, submit your application through the provincial college application service. Domestic applicants can apply directly online, while international applicants use the polytechnic's international application form. There is no application fee. Once you receive your offer, you will access the student portal to upload your documents and pay your tuition.

What you will learn

In this program, you will develop the core skills that employers and universities look for. You will learn how to write clearly, think critically and analyse information. You will study how media shapes public opinion and how to conduct research using ethical methods. You will also build your confidence in mathematics and statistics, which are useful in many fields. Through a mix of lectures, group projects and practical assignments, you will graduate ready to tackle complex problems.

How the program runs

The General Arts & Science certificate is a full-time program that runs for one year, covering two terms. You can start in September or January. Classes are held at both the Benchlands Campus and the Mercer Street Campus, so you may attend sessions at either location depending on your schedule. There is no co-op work term built into this certificate, but you can choose optional volunteer or research projects to gain experience.

Admission

To apply, you need an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or an equivalent qualification. You must have completed Grade 12 English at the C or U level with a minimum grade of 60%. If you are 19 or older by the start of classes, you may apply as a mature student. International students must provide proof of English proficiency through an accepted test or equivalent study. Domestic applicants submit their applications through the provincial college application service. There is no application fee.

Tuition and fees

Tuition for domestic students is $3,480 per year. You will also pay ancillary fees of $1,125 per year, which cover services like the library, student association and IT support. These fees are charged separately from tuition. If you need to pay over time, you can request a tuition payment plan through Student Financial Aid. International students should check the international tuition rates on the Tuition & Fees page.

After you graduate

Graduates of the General Arts & Science certificate often continue their education at a university or college. Many students use this certificate to meet the entrance requirements for a bachelor's degree in arts, business or science. You can also apply for transfer credit at other institutions to shorten your time to a degree. Some graduates enter the workforce directly in administrative, research or communications roles that value strong writing and analytical abilities.

How to apply

Ready to start? Visit the How to apply page to see the full checklist of documents you need. You can also book a campus tour or attend an Open House to meet faculty and current students.
What you will learn

This program gives you the exact science and math credits that health programs require for admission. You will build a strong foundation in calculus, biostatistics, chemistry, physics and thermodynamics. You will also learn how to communicate clearly in health settings and explore topics that support your own health and wellness. The courses are designed to match the first-year requirements of Wrenford Polytechnic health diplomas and certificates.

You will work in labs and classrooms on the Benchlands Campus. The schedule is set for full-time study, so you can focus on your coursework and prepare your application materials at the same time. You will leave with a complete set of first-year credits and a clear path toward your chosen health career.

How the program runs

The certificate runs for one academic year, divided into two terms. Classes are delivered full-time on the Benchlands Campus. You will take eight courses across the fall and winter terms. The program starts in September or January, so you can choose the intake that fits your schedule. All courses are taught by faculty from the School of Computing & Academic Studies and the School of Health Sciences, giving you direct access to instructors who know health program requirements.

Admission

PHYS 1720 Electric Circuits I

What you will learn

Pre-Technology Foundations is designed to give you a strong start in applied science and engineering. You will build a solid understanding of technical mathematics, classical mechanics, waves and optics, electric circuits, and general chemistry. Alongside the hard sciences, you will take courses in business ethics and digital information literacy so you can communicate clearly and work responsibly in a professional environment. The program mixes classroom theory with hands-on lab work, giving you the confidence to tackle more advanced coursework in your chosen field.

How the program runs

This full-time program runs for one year across two terms. Classes are held at the Benchlands Campus, where you will use the labs in the Escarpment Building and the Tamarack Building for practical experiments. You can begin in either September or January. Because the program is delivered full-time, you will attend classes Monday through Friday during standard business hours. The curriculum is tightly structured, so you will register in four courses each term to stay on track for graduation.

Admission

Admission to this program follows the standard requirements for Ontario colleges. You must hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or an equivalent credential, or meet the criteria for mature student status, which means you will be 19 or older by the start of classes. For the science and math courses in this program, the provincial college admission rules require a minimum grade of 60% in Grade 12 English (C or U) and Grade 12 math (C or U). While not mandatory for entry, having completed Grade 11 Chemistry and Grade 12 Physics will help you succeed in the laboratory components. If you do not meet the direct entry requirements, consider taking the Pre-Health Sciences certificate or upgrading your grades through Continuing Education.

Tuition and fees

Domestic tuition for the 2026–27 academic year is $3,480. This covers the full year of instruction across two terms. You will also pay ancillary fees of $1,125 per year, which fund campus services like the library, tutoring centre, and student association. International students pay a different rate; check the Tuition & Fees page for the exact international figure. If you need to spread out your payments, you can set up a payment plan through Student Financial Aid. The Fall 2026 tuition payment is due August 3, 2026, and the Winter 2027 payment is due December 7, 2026.

After you graduate

Graduates of Pre-Technology Foundations typically transfer into diploma, advanced diploma, or degree programs in engineering technology, applied engineering, or the skilled trades. The certificate counts toward advanced standing in several School of Energy & Applied Engineering and School of Construction & the Environment programs. If you prefer to enter the workforce first, the digital literacy and ethics training prepares you for technical roles where you will work with engineers, architects, or laboratory scientists. You can also use the certificate to meet the academic prerequisites for apprenticeship in-school training.

How to apply

Domestic students apply through the provincial college application service. There is no application fee to submit an application to Wrenford Polytechnic. You will need to upload your transcripts and proof of English and math grades through your applicant account. International applicants must use the polytechnic's own application form and submit proof of English proficiency. Once accepted, you will receive your offer and instructions to enroll in courses. Visit the How to apply page for a step-by-step guide, or contact the Admissions office if you have questions about your eligibility.

CYBR 5930 Machine Learning Basics

NETW 5820 Data Analytics Foundations

What you will learn

In this program, you will move past basic data entry and learn how to manage large datasets from start to finish. You will explore how to clean and organize information so it is accurate and ready for analysis. You will build predictive models that help forecast trends and identify risks before they happen. You will also learn how to present complex numbers in simple charts and dashboards that decision-makers can understand. The curriculum covers data governance, meaning you will learn how to keep data secure and compliant with privacy standards while working with it.

How the program runs

This program is delivered in a hybrid format, mixing on-campus labs with online coursework so you can manage your schedule. You can start in September or January, and you will complete the program over two or three terms. Classes are held across both the Benchlands Campus and the Mercer Street Campus, giving you access to the computing labs at both locations. You will work on group projects and individual case studies, using industry-standard software to build your portfolio. There is no co-op work term built into this program, but you will complete a final capstone project that simulates a real business environment.

Admission

To join the program, you must hold a completed college diploma, advanced diploma, or university degree. You will need to show proof of Grade 12 Mathematics at a 60% level or higher, or complete an approved college-level statistics course before you start. International applicants must submit an approved English proficiency test score. We review every application as it comes in, so we recommend submitting your documents early. If you have relevant work experience in data or analytics, you may be able to request a Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) to waive certain prerequisites.

Tuition and fees

Domestic tuition is $4,680 per year for the 2026–27 academic year. This covers your classes and standard campus services. You will also pay ancillary fees of $1,125 per year, which support the library, fitness centre, and student association. You can pay your tuition in two equal payments, one before the fall term starts and one before the winter term. If you need help covering costs, you can apply for provincial student financial assistance or ask about tuition payment plans through Student Financial Aid.

After you graduate

Graduates leave with a strong portfolio of data visualizations and predictive models that you can show to employers. You will be ready to step into roles that require both technical analysis and clear communication. Many of our alumni work in sectors like healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and financial services, where data-driven decisions are essential. You will also have the foundation to continue into advanced graduate certificates or applied bachelor's degrees if you wish to keep studying.

How to apply

Domestic applicants apply through the provincial college application service. International applicants register directly on the polytechnic's own form. You will need to upload your official transcripts and identification documents to your student portal once you receive an admission offer. Visit the Apply page for full instructions and important deadlines. If you have questions about the admission process, contact Admissions at 519-555-0171.

What you will learn

You will learn how to design, build, and test software that runs on computers, networks, and the cloud. You will write code in multiple programming languages, manage data structures, and ensure systems run securely. Courses cover the full software development life cycle, from planning and design to testing and deployment. You will also study networking fundamentals, project management, and system architecture to understand how software fits into larger business environments. Labs are held in the Kingfisher Building, where you will use modern computer workstations and industry-standard development tools.

How the program runs

This full-time program is delivered at the Benchlands Campus and begins each September. You will complete four years of study across eight terms, followed by a 14-week co-op placement. The program includes three paid work terms where you will apply what you have learned in a professional setting. These work terms give you hands-on experience, help you build a professional network, and make you ready for the workforce when you graduate. Classes are held in the Kingfisher Building, where you will use modern computer labs and software development tools. You will work in small groups to solve real-world problems and present your solutions to instructors and industry guests.

Admission

To apply, you need an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or you must be a mature student (19 or older by the start of classes). You must have Grade 12 English and Grade 12 math, both at a minimum grade of 60%. If you are an international applicant, you must also provide proof of English proficiency. Domestic students apply through the provincial college application service. International students use the college's own application form. We review applications on a rolling basis, but we recommend applying early to secure a spot in the September intake.

NETW 5770 Security Compliance Standards

What you will learn

In this program, you will study how to protect digital systems and sensitive data from unauthorised access. You will learn to monitor networks for unusual activity, analyse security logs and put in place strong controls to keep information safe. The curriculum covers the main models that govern how networks operate, the encryption methods that keep data private and the frameworks that guide risk management. You will also practise how to respond to security incidents and build disaster recovery plans so an organisation can keep running after a breach.

How the program runs

You will study at the Benchlands Campus through a hybrid schedule that mixes online learning with in-person labs and workshops. The program runs for one year across two to three terms. You can start in September or January. Classes are designed for working professionals and recent graduates, so the timetable allows you to balance your studies with other commitments. You will work in the Kingfisher Building, where the Computing & Information Technology department houses its computer labs and testing rooms.

Admission

To join this program, you must hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or an equivalent qualification, or meet mature student status (19 or older before classes begin). You need Grade 12 English (C or U) with a minimum grade of 60%. International applicants must provide proof of English proficiency through a recognised test or equivalent study. A foundational understanding of IT concepts is recommended before you start. If you need to strengthen your English or math skills, you can explore upgrading options through the Academic Upgrading centre.

Tuition and fees

Domestic tuition for the 2026–27 academic year is $4,680. This covers your two to three terms of study. You will also pay ancillary fees of $1,125 per year for campus services, technology access and student association membership. These fees are separate from tuition. If you require financial support, you can contact Student Financial Aid to discuss eligibility for provincial student assistance, in-house bursaries and entrance scholarships. The polytechnic does not charge an application fee.

After you graduate

Graduates are prepared to step into roles that protect organisational infrastructure and data. Employers in the City of Wrenford and across Ontario hire graduates to manage security operations, conduct compliance audits and lead incident response teams. You will leave the program with a portfolio of lab reports and risk assessments that demonstrate your ability to secure networks and defend against cyber threats. You can also speak with staff at Co-op & Career Services to explore employment opportunities and professional development.

How to apply

Domestic applicants submit their application through the provincial college application service. International applicants use the polytechnic's own application form. You can upload your transcripts and supporting documents through the myWrenford portal once your application is started. Make sure to check the Tuition and fees page for payment deadlines and the How to apply page for step-by-step instructions. If you have questions about admission or course transfers, visit Future Students or contact the Computing & Information Technology department.

There is no application fee to submit an application to Wrenford Polytechnic. You can apply in September or January. If you are a mature student, you will need to show proof of age and relevant work experience. International applicants must provide an English proficiency test or equivalent. The admissions office reviews each application to ensure you meet the program requirements.

Tuition and fees

Domestic tuition is $3,940 per year for 2026–27. Ancillary fees are $1,125 per year and are separate from tuition. You can pay by term or set up a payment plan through Student Financial Aid. If you qualify for Ontario student financial assistance, you can apply for grants and loans to help cover costs. Parking permits are $210 per term if you drive to campus.

What you will learn

In this program, you will learn how to design, install and maintain computer networks and systems. You will work with industry-standard tools to configure servers, set up cloud services, and manage databases. The curriculum covers networking fundamentals, system administration, cybersecurity basics, and scripting languages that keep IT environments running smoothly.

You will also develop strong communication skills to document technical processes, write clear reports, and explain complex IT concepts to non-technical users. Through hands-on labs and project work, you will solve real-world problems that mirror the tasks you will face in the workplace. You will graduate with a solid foundation in both the hardware and software that power modern organisations.

How the program runs

The program is delivered full-time on the Benchlands Campus and runs for two years (four terms). You can begin your studies in September or January. Classes and labs are held in the Tamarack Building and the Escarpment Building, where you will practice setting up hardware, configuring network infrastructure, and managing operating systems.

As a co-op program, your studies include three paid work terms. These placements let you apply what you learn in the classroom while building professional experience that employers value. You will work with local businesses, government offices, and technology firms across the region. The co-op experience helps you build a professional network and often leads to full-time job offers before you even graduate.

Admission

Applicants must hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or qualify as a mature student (19 or older by the start of classes). You need Grade 12 English (C or U) with a minimum grade of 60%, and Grade 12 math (C or U) with a minimum grade of 60%. International applicants must provide proof of English proficiency through an accepted test or equivalent qualification.

Domestic applicants apply through the provincial college application service. International applicants use the polytechnic's own application form. The equal consideration date for fall intake is March 1, 2027. If you do not meet the standard admission requirements, you may be eligible for conditional admission or bridging courses.

Tuition and fees

Domestic tuition for 2026–27 is $3,940 per year. Ancillary fees, which cover services like the library, student association, and health centre, are separate at $1,125 per year. You can pay tuition in two instalments, with the fall payment due August 3, 2026, and the winter payment due December 7, 2026. Visit the Tuition & Fees page for full details on payment plans, refunds, and financial assistance. Ontario student financial assistance is available for eligible students.

After you graduate

Graduates are prepared for roles such as computer network technician, systems administrator, database administrator, IT support specialist, cybersecurity analyst, and hardware technician. The three co-op work terms and hands-on labs ensure you graduate with a professional portfolio and industry connections that help you find employment quickly.

Many graduates continue their education through graduate certificates or applied bachelor's degrees in computing or cybersecurity. The program also prepares you for industry certifications in networking, cloud computing, and system administration, giving you a competitive edge in the job market.
